Around Sao Paulo

Took half a pill to ensure that i sleep on my first night in SP. But still had difficulties sleeping although finally managed to fall asleep after abt 20 min. Woke up once only to go toilet - which is not too bad! Hopefully the jetlag doesn't affect me too much.

Had a late breakfast at 9am and met Clar and his wife, Dot who have kindly brought us around Liberdade (Japan town in Sao Paulo). Not as nice as i thought it would be. Went to the Sunday morning market (which is actually like our pasar malam. Cla & Dot went there to groceries shop while we tagged along just to look see... Thereafter we went to this nice place 45min away from SP city - Embu where there is an open space where stalls selling arty stuff were set up once a week. Nice! Bought some nice earrings.... Had a very full lunch - rice, local veg, pork and chicken and their beans. Thereafter we went to try Choppe de Vinho (Beer + wine) which tasted more like carbonated ribena! It is very nice! I am definitely going to miss that!
Now I am back in the hotel room at 6pm local time. Still full from lunch, prob going out later to eat dinner nearby with boss. Happy that i can connect to the internet cos i din manage to do so this morning (*angry*) woke up early somemore cos i wanted to chat with Dar.

Here are some pics - enjoy!

Lobby of the hotel I am staying

Free internet at the lobby. Check out the cool design of the seat! Basically u sit on the chair and pull the key board over ur lap!

Liberdade - Japantown of Sao Paulo

Packets of nuts being sold in convenient stores in Liberdade

Some Indian rojak lookalike fried prawns in large pieces of dough being sold in the once a week market in Liberdade
Some paintings being sold in the market at Embu- Oh, I just love the one on top left! but it's too big to carry back. They looked so 3D and it gives a very warm feeling like 2 parent boats and a baby boat. The colour of the boat is vibrant and the background is so peaceful and serene!
More stuff being sold at Embu

Some art pieces - Very Zen like and unique

Paintings in the restaurant where we had lunch!

Choppe de Vinho (Beer + wine) - tasted like carbonated Ribena!
